Garcia Hand Picked Zippo Lighter

In the 80's when I started carrying a Zippo, the lore was that there are a number of slash marks on the broad face of the wick assembly insert. The more the marks, the better the quality. There are no such marks on the insert in this Zippo lighter, and the price was justified in quality of craftsmanship. I've owned a few Zippos over my life, and I've come to accept that you have to pick up and work the actions on the Zippo to know whether this is a budget version from the factory, or even a foreign cheap knock-off Zippo. You also run into the ones that have a great looking face under a display glass, then you find out after buying it that it is a cheap decal that's cool on your new Zippo, not an everlasting element of this EDC toolset. Checking for all benchmarks on my new Garcia Hand Picked Zippo lighter, here's what I can certify: 1) Hinge quality is smooth, sturdy with only a tiny amt of lateral wiggle when fully opened; 2) GHP logo is expertly-etched into the black powder-coated metal surface all over this quality piece, using a metallic gold display being forever pressed into this gem. You can see a reflection on the gold surface, and the etching across both the top and the body align perfectly, no gap at all where they meet when closed; 3) Powder coating is not part of only one other face on this GHP Zippo lighter: the bottom reveals the brass metal beneath the black, with a certified Zippo logo, including the "Made in the USA" and "Bradford, PA" stamped into the metal;…
