GarciaLive Volume 11 documents the Jerry Garcia Band’s November 11th, 1993 show in Providence, Rhode Island on what would be the band's final East Coast tour. On this evening, in front of 8,500 fans, the band showcased their luscious group harmonies within an incredible variety of song choices – Garcia/Hunter originals, R&B, the requisite Bob Dylan cover, and even a little bluegrass. In company with Jerry, John Kahn and David Kemper drove their imaginative rhythms alongside Melvin Seals’ soulful melodies, and the symphonic background vocals of Gloria Jones and Jacklyn LaBranch. Produced from previously uncirculated soundboard recordings, it’s a slice of prime, late-era Garcia that hasn’t sounded this good since the notes filled the halls of the Providence Civic Center.

I love it. Jerry's voice is warm and clear and for me his guitar playing always sounds and feels like Spiritual Raindrops. All around just a great CD.

Although you can hear his advancing age in the tone of his voice, Jerry is solid and spot on for virtually every note of this show. He was really on that night and it showed in his strong command of the words and music in every song. The lyrics are all solid and Jerry leads the band into some unique exploratory runs that remind me more of his experimentation in his earlier years. I'm not sure if he was trying hard to make sure that it was a great show since everyone had to deal with Providence security, which was notoriously harsh, but the whole band delivered on this one. Lots of great work by Melvin Seals that shows how well he and Jerry played together and a lot of nice drum fills by David Kemper as well. John Kahn is as solid as ever. You will enjoy the sound and feel of this one.

Love it! Love the vocals and the music is beautiful and relaxing. Just the thing to find peace after a stressful day. Also helps me avoid road rage with idiot drivers on the highway! Must have for Jerry's fans!

Possible my favorite JGB recording and live set. Just amazing. I listened to it three times over painting my house and wasn't tired of it but thought I better put on something else. Golden nugget for sure.
