Selling over 360,000 CDs since its release and now available for the first time on vinyl, the beloved self-titled album, Jerry Garcia Band, was the band's first live release recorded in the spring and summer of 1990 at The Warfield in San Francisco, CA. The iconic lineup led by Garcia (guitar, vocals) features John Kahn (bass), Melvin Seals (keyboard), David Kemper (drums), Gloria Jones, and Jacklyn LaBranch (backing vocals).
Jerry Garcia Band highlights the band's ability to showcase numerous genres in their sets, ranging from rock, R&B, jazz, and Motown, to name a few. Furthermore, the album also shows their ability to put a personal spin while honoring the spirit of repertoire staples such as Allen Toussaint's "Get Out of My Life" and Bruce Cockburn's "Waiting for a Miracle."
In celebration of the album's 30th anniversary, the 180g 5-LP Collector’s Edition box set is wrapped with textured paper and features gold foil and debossed elements, includes two new essays from Steven Hyden and Bill Walton, and features an etching on Side J. The Collector’s Edition is in a limited pressing of 10,000 and includes a free MP3 download card.

This is one of my favorite CDs and to now have it on vinyl is a blessing! Arrived on Thanksgiving too, a true blessing. The vinyl sounds great, quiet and not a bad pressing at all. Could be a hair brighter but good. After all, it’s JGB so… The packaging is great! Though I wish there was more in the line of liner notes and the pictures of the band members from the old CD notes are missing. Not a big deal, I’m here for the music. Bottom line, 5 stars to my Brothers and my Sisters! Keep the faith!

Nice sound. Good presentation and separation of instruments. Sound is full with just the right amount of bass. All discs were pretty dirty but no issues with noise and all were flat. Must buy for JGB fans.
