Bare Bones: Volume I Master Takes is the debut volume in a new series exploring the foundation of David Grisman & Jerry Garcia's beloved studio recordings. This installment of duo recordings includes seven master takes released on Garcia/Grisman, Shady Grove, and Been All Around This World. The remaining 12 tracks, mostly from Not For Kids Only, were recorded as duos but were embellished with percussion, fiddle, autoharp, vocal harmonies, and yes, even insects while Jerry was out touring. They are presented here for the first time in their original unadorned state on 2xLPs housed in gatefold packaging with liner notes by David Grisman.

Just incredible love Listening to those two go back and forth amazing. The 2 knew each other very, very well. The changings of time and space between the two, it was just breathtaking to listen, and I did it in a silent room, and you could hear the crispness, just incredible, thank you. Always a ten.

This album was worth the (short) wait! The quality of the pressing is excellent. I sat down with my daughter and listened to freight train lp from Elizabeth Cotton then jumped to this version. Very cool. Thank you ! Will grab future volumes.

Such a great album. Have enjoyed listening to it multiple times over the last week and a half. So good to hear Jerry's voice and him and David interacting. Can't wait till Volume 2 and Volume 3 come out.
